My name is Shari Ralish, and since College I knew that I would own a business one day.  For the last twenty years, I figured it would be in the construction management industry having made my way from intern to project engineer to project manager.  More recently, those business dreams changed course with some thankful assistance due to the recession, the birth of a son and my own desire to follow a dream.

I have always had an interest in the medicinal and therapeutic properties of herbs and was able to gain some basic knowledge working in a health food store a few years back while taking a break from my career in the construction industry.  As my life slowed down, I was able to have a small garden, cook more from scratch and cook more in line with the seasons.  It was like my taste buds were turned on for the first time in years!  I think it was a turning point in my life that put me on course for where I am today.

Like many parents, I became more aware of the toxins we are all exposed to on a daily basis; and, as an admitted tree hugger, I am committed to doing as much as I can to live more sustainably.  Peaceful Parlour was born out of my desire to live more in tune with nature, get back to basics, live more simply, avoid toxins, and be part of a community where every one knows you by your first name.  I am delighted to have found this home in Geneva.

Our mission is to:

• Offer the consumer the ability to create their customized bath experience and educate the consumer about the availability of natural products
• Offer the consumer a variety of products that encourage green purchasing in an interactive and fun way
• Demonstrate that being green can be stylish and easy
• Educate the consumer about ways to reduce waste, reuse materials and recycle products
• Provide information about upcoming green events such as conventions, fairs and gatherings as well as informal meet-ups with like-minded individuals
• Inspire peace
